PanSpeech represents an original, open and inclusive space of discussion about tangible and intangible heritage, promoting a bottom-up process of values building, such as citizenship, democracy, memory and identity. It is a social networking platform for the creation and sharing of contents, founded on the principle of crowdsourcing and based on open source technology. It is an open space of discussion involving a trans-national and inter-generational audience of users/citizens. The discussion is articulated around four challenges:
- Heritage and Inheritance
- Heritage and Homeland
- Heritage and Innovation
- Heritage and Privatization
The development of the platform is part of the project INHERIT – Innovating Heritage: Developing New Practices and Tools of Participatory Democracy in Europe, ideated by a pool of researchers of the University of Siena in collaboration with the University of Barcelona and the University of Ljubljana. In 2013 it won the second edition of the competition Terre di Siena Creative becoming a start-up.
