The International SmartCulture Week 2015

EUROPEAN DAY OF THE ENTREPRENEUR - 15-16 OCTOBER 2015, INTEREXPO CENTRE, SOFIA

Sofia University “St. Kl. Ohridski”, Sofia Municipality and the Delegation of the European Commission in Bulgaria are organizing the 13th issue of the European Day of the Entrepreneur (EDE).
This year it will be held on 15-16 October 2015 at the InterExpo Centre, Sofia.
Co-organisers of the forum are all the relevant Ministries as well as more than 20 representative public, non-governmental and private structures. Many international organizations show an interest to the different events, held under the frame of EDE.

FIFTH EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL FOR DIGITAL ART – DA FEST

17 SEPTEMBER – THE DAY OF SOFIA

On September 17, the Day of the capital city Sofia, will take place the opening ceremony for the Museum for the History of Sofia. This is the first museum of its kind in the city, with interactive exhibitions, digital collections, showing the cultural heritage of the city, including many artefacts not seen before. On this day, Sofia Municipality also presents awards to leading artists from the city.

OPEN DOORS AT DERIDA DANCE CENTER – IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE ORIK FESTIVAL FOR INDEPENDENT ART

The Day of Open Doors at Derida Dance Center is an annual event giving an opportunity to enthusiasts and ordinary people to try their hand in professional dance – Contemporary dance, Zumba, Classical Ballet, Raga, Dancehall, Pilates, Fusion Dance, Suing, Oriental Dance, Conditioning Training, Irish Dance, Afro Samba, etc.
This year the event happens in partnership with the ORIK Festival for Independent Art. It will be held from 5th to 11th September 2015 in the open space in front of the Telephone Palace, Sofia, with over 100 independent Bulgarian artists.

ALLEY OF THE BOOKS

In September, Sofia will host the traveling book fair Alley of the Books. This year the exciting summer event will take place under the street lanterns of the renovated Vitosha Boulevard.
The pedestrian zone will become home to 15 tents with over 40 exhibitors and interactive events for children and adults. A literature corner will give a stage to residents and visitors of the city to speak and present their favourite Bulgarian writers and books.

OPEN SPACE FOR URBAN CULTURE

The Open Space for Urban Culture project is supported by Cultural Innovations Fund of Sofia Municipality.
The 4-day festival, organized by the project team, showcased 9 creative actions and installations, addressed to variety of audience. The event brought together artists and cultural operators from several cities - Sofia, Varna, Veliko Tarnovo, Burgas and Gabrovo.
